Banana Jungle
A jungle that comes alive when you move — a large-scale interactive projection where a wall of bananas responds to every gesture.
When the jungle starts to move. Banana Jungle is a large-scale interactive projection built as part of a jungle-themed kids' amusement pop-up at Arena Mall in Herzliya — a lush wall of foliage and fruit that answers to the people in front of it. Reach, wave, run past, and the bananas respond; kids and grown-ups alike find it hard to step away from the screen.
Concept
Placed inside a family pop-up experience, the piece is built to stop you where you stand. There is no controller and nothing to read — the jungle simply notices movement and comes alive, rewarding play with more play. A giant banana bench nearby turns the installation into a photo moment as much as a game.
How it works
Built with Unreal Engine and TouchDesigner, Banana Jungle uses a motion camera to detect the players in front of it and drives the projected jungle in real time, so the fruit and foliage react instantly to every gesture.
